Kristy A. Terrell is a Clinical Studies Coordinator II with the DAWN Alzheimer’s Research Study team, where she helps connect individuals and families with opportunities to contribute to Alzheimer’s disease research.

A native of Hillsborough, North Carolina, Kristy earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Carolina A&T State University. Before transitioning into biomedical research at academic medical centers, she worked in both clinical and laboratory settings. Her research career included positions at the Marsico Lung Institute Molecular Biology Core at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Regional Biocontainment Laboratory at the Duke Human Vaccine Institute, and the UNC Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma and Lung Biology (CEMALB). Through these roles, she contributed to research in pulmonary biology, immunology, vaccine science, and environmental lung health before joining the DAWN Alzheimer’s Research Study team in 2023.

Having seen the impact of Alzheimer’s disease within her own family, Kristy is passionate about increasing awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and brain health and helping historically underrepresented populations learn about opportunities to participate in research.
